Since 1972, the Long Beach Rescue Mission has opened its doors to thousands of men, women and children. The mission provides food, clothing, shelter and spiritual guidance to the homeless and less fortunate people of the community.

Cheer at the LA Marathon - Support the Poor

Title: Cheer at the LA Marathon - Support the Poor
Location: Venice Blvd & St. Charles Pl
Description: It’s Team World Vision’s first year at the LA Marathon! We want to make an impact and we need you to do it!

Imagine this: people are running down Venice blvd completing mile 12 of the 26.2 they plan to run that day. All of a sudden they see a sea of orange. As they pass by the people, they are cheered for, encouraged, and feel a bit stronger because of it.

Come to the official Team World Vision cheer station at mile 12 of the LA Marathon to cheer on all of the runners, but especially those from Team World Vision!

Monday, May 25 (Memorial Day)
Arrive: 8:30 am for bagels and donuts
Post-race BBQ: After we cheer (about 11:30 or 12), join Team World Vision runners, fans, and family members for a post-race celebration

The first 20 volunteers to arrive will receive free orange Team World
Vision t-shirts. We’ll also have signs, noisemakers, and other cheer
Supplies.

Directions (to avoid street closures):
10-freeway west exit La Brea
Right/North on La Brea
Right on St. Elmo Street
Left on Rimpau Blv.
Left on St. Charles
Street Parking on St. Charles and Rimpau Blv.
Look for the orange colored shirts at the intersection of Venice and St Charles.

Remember to wear orange!
